The fix for the walker and playpen reset bug has been updated, and all known issues have been addressed. The objects will now function exactly as they should.

This mod provides a fix for the bug affecting the Walker and Playpen premium content objects from the Sims 3 Store. Since patch 1.63, the walker and the playpen no longer function properly and cause the toddler to reset. This happens when the toddler uses one of the following interactions: Play with Abacus (playpen), Play with Mirror (playpen) or Play (Walker) and has already achieved the “maximum” skill level allowed for the object/interaction (Logic: 3, Charisma: 3, Handiness 2, respectively).

This mod will allow your toddlers to use the walker and playpen normally without any fear of resetting, even if they have reached the maximum skill level intended for the interaction.

Note: You MUST have the Head Start Playpen or the Local Motion Toddler Walker (or both) from the Sims 3 Store in order for this mod to work. It will NOT add the objects to your game. 


Important Details:

  • No Expansion packs required.
  • Requires patch 1.63.
  • This mod requires either the walker or the playpen, or both, from the Sims 3 Store to be installed in your game. You can use this mod whether you have only one object or both.
  • Again, this mod will not add the walker or the playpen to your game. You must have already installed these objects for this mod to have any effect on your game.
  • This mod may become obsolete if EA releases a patch that fixes the interactions on the playpen and walker.

The previous workaround for the walker and playpen bug is considered obsolete and will not be supported.

[PC] FIX for Walker and Playpen Reset Bug - V2

This mod provides a workaround for the bug affecting the Walker and Playpen premium content objects from the Sims 3 Store. Since patch 1.63, the walker and the playpen no longer function properly and cause the toddler to reset. This happens when the toddler uses one of the following interactions: Play with Abacus (playpen), Play with Mirror (playpen) or Play (Walker) and has already achieved the “maximum” skill level allowed for the object/interaction (Logic: 3, Charisma: 3, Handiness 2, respectively).

This mod removes the skill gain from the following interactions: Play with Abacus (playpen, logic), Play with Mirror (playpen, charisma), Play (walker, handiness). This means your sims will no longer be able to gain any logic, charisma or handiness skill points from these objects. Your sim will still be able to learn to talk and learn to walk on their own, but if you want them to learn logic, charisma, or handiness, you’ll need to use NRaas MasterController or another mod  to assign the skill to them.

I did try to fix this problem with a script mod, and I even tried to fix the problem by unhiding the skills for toddlers in the Skill XMLs, but none of it worked. I know that this work around will remove some of the usefulness of the premium content, but at least your toddlers will be able to use their walkers and playpens without resetting.

If you’ve got the Stasis Chamber that came with the Quantum Power Pack (pre-order/Limited Edition gift), you might have noticed that your witches suffer from magic fatigue when they go into stasis. This is due to an oversight by the coders (or maybe they realized it would happen, but didn’t think it was a big deal), which causes the magic fatigue motive to be maxed when using the stasis chamber. At max magic fatigue, the witch magic bar is empty. 

This mod sets magic fatigue back to -100 when your sim exits the stasis chamber, so your witch’s magic bar will be full when exiting stasis. Note that magic power will remain depleted while the sim is inside the stasis chamber. A proper fix for this can only be done with a scripting mod, and I don’t really feel like making one for this.

Patch 1.63 is a major patch, and many tuning mods will require an update.

More or Less Gigs for Bands and Music Opportunities for your Sims (Late Night) – UPDATED Only Nona_gigsandmusicopps flavor required an update.
Cow Plant Tweaks, with multiple flavors – UDPATED The changes here are minimal, and the mods are safe to use with 1.63, you will just be missing some restrictions with plumbots.

Any mod not on this list does not require an update for 1.63, and is safe to use with the patch.

For those of you who wish to test some of your mods for compatibility with patch 1.55, use this tutorial as guide.

Do not play test tuning mods. Some tuning mods may be incompatible with the patch but it may not be obvious in your game.

Patch 1.55 is a major patch. It contains many changes to the XML tuning files in the GameplayData.package as well as in the core.

If EA keeps to the schedule they’ve been using for the last several expansions, we can expect the Island Paradise patch very soon, possibly even Sunday or Monday. As usual, in preparation for the patch, I recommend Crinrict’s What to do before patching advice.

Unfortunately, I am not able to predict which of my mods will require updating and which will not. However, some of my mods are 100% certain to require an update:

I will do my best to get incompatible mods updated as quickly as possible.

EDIT: NEVERMIND! DO not use this mod. Your sim won’t be able to play violin at all if it does not have a skill level of 6 or higher.

The Fit as a Fiddle Violin from the Sims 3 Store is supposed to have 14 compositions available for your sim to play. The medieval compositions show up fine, but only 5 of the other compositions are ever available for your sim, even when the sim has level 10 Violin skill. This mod will fix that.

There are no significant changes for patch 1.48. Any mod that was compatible with 1.47 is compatible with 1.48. In fact, even core mods are compatible with 1.48.
